Brazed Double Cut Rotary Files Carbide Burrs Set, 50,000 RPM
Twelve brazed-head double-cut carbide burrs (shapes A-M) covering every common contour; rated to 50,000 RPM.
Design and Construction
The set covers twelve head shapes (A/B/C/D/E/F/G/H/J/K/L/M): cylinder, cylinder end cut, cylinder ball nose, ball, oval, tree, pointed tree, flame, countersinks and cones. Each tungsten carbide head is silver-brazed onto a steel shank and ground with a double cut for fast removal.
How It Works
Double-cut crossed flutes chip material rapidly at up to 50,000 RPM; the twelve shapes let you move from flat work to radii, countersinks and internal contours without changing setups.
Applications
General machine shop deburring, weld dressing, porting tooling, sculpting, maintenance and repair work.
Suitable Materials
Steel, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals and hardwood.
Field Cases
- Trade school: twelve-shape brazed sets survive student abuse at a fraction of solid-head cost.
- Maintenance crew: worn tree heads re-brazed twice in two years – shanks never left service.
- Sculpture studio: mixes shapes weekly; brazed heads keep the whole range affordable.
Performance Data
| Metric | Value / Observation |
|---|---|
| Set economics | Twelve brazed heads cost a fraction of twelve solid heads, with the same carbide cutting performance |
| Service loop | Worn heads re-brazed in-house keep the shanks in service for years |
| Speed ceiling | Rated to 50,000 RPM – braze joint tested above the working range |
| Best fit | Jobbing shops with mixed daily work; solid carbide suits dedicated high-hour stations |
Material Comparison: Brazed Head vs. Solid Head vs. HSS Set
Three construction routes for a 12-head set – typical industry data:
| Factor | Brazed (this set) | Solid Carbide | HSS Set |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cutting head | Tungsten carbide, silver-brazed | Integral carbide | HSS, ground flutes |
| Head hardness | 1,300-1,500 HV | 1,300-1,500 HV | 240-300 HV |
| Edge life on steel | 5-10x HSS | 5-10x HSS | Baseline |
| Head replacement | Re-brazable – lowest long-run cost | Whole tool replaced when worn | Regrind shortens life |
| Cost profile | Lowest cost per head | Highest per head | Low unit, short life |
| Risk note | Brazed joint is the weak link – ours are shear-tested | No joint to fail | Flutes roll over quickly above 35 HRC |
Delivery Scope
Twelve burrs in a plastic case; individual shapes available separately. Custom shank lengths and laser marking on request.
Why Choose VPOINT
VPOINT TOOLS has manufactured precision cutting tools since 2008 in two production bases (Sichuan and Dongguan, China) under ISO 9001 quality management. Every carbide burr is supported by a one-year warranty, custom and non-standard engraving service, and regrinding service. Brazed-head construction keeps replacement cost low – worn heads can be re-brazed or exchanged.
Precision & Quality Control
Each burr is checked for flute geometry, cutting-edge sharpness, shank runout and concentricity at micrometre level before packing; production batches are traceable and packed per ISO 9001 procedures.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the burr made of solid tungsten carbide?
Yes. The cutting head is tungsten carbide heads silver-brazed onto steel shanks.
Which shank sizes are available?
6 mm (1/4″) shanks across the set.
What speed should I run the burr at?
Run between 6,000 and 50,000 RPM depending on the cutter diameter; use the lower end for larger diameters and the higher end for fine detail work.
Which materials can I machine with it?
Steel, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals and hardwood.
Do you accept custom or non-standard sizes?
Yes. VPOINT supports custom shapes, sizes, shank lengths and laser marking on non-standard orders (minimum order quantity applies).
