Design and Construction

SB-51M: an inverted-cone (counter-sinking style) carbide head, 3 mm class, on a 3 mm (1/8) shank. The cone cuts undercuts, internal chamfers and back-deburr operations a ball or cylinder cannot reach.

How It Works

Presented into the hole from the far side, the cone cuts the chamfer or undercut in one sweep at 30,000-50,000 RPM.

Applications

Back-deburring holes, internal chamfers, undercut cleanup, small-part machining support.

Field Cases

  • Machining cell: SB-51M back-deburred cross-holes where a file could not reach.
  • Electronics housings: internal chamfers cut without flipping the panel.
  • Model shop: undercut cleanup on 3 mm features.

Material Comparison: Inverted Cone (SB-51M) vs Ball vs Cylinder at 3 mm

What the inverted cone alone can do:

Job Inverted Cone (this bit) Ball Nose Cylinder
Back-deburr holes Yes – cuts from the far side No No
Internal chamfer Yes No No
Undercut cleanup Yes Partial No
General blending Limited Best Flat work

Delivery Scope

Burr in protective cap; other 3 mm codes available.

Why Choose VPOINT

The inverted cone is the only geometry that back-cuts – stocked at precision scale.

Precision & Quality Control

Cone angle checked per batch; small heads magnification-inspected.
