PCD Finger Grip Bits
PCD Finger Grip Bits for CNC Woodworking
This PCD finger grip bit machines integrated finger-grip handles directly into furniture fronts — drawer fronts and doors that open without attached handles. One pass forms the grip recess with a comfortable finger radius.

Design and Construction
+Polycrystalline diamond (PCD) cutting edges are brazed onto a steel body with a finger-grip profile combining a radius and straight relief. The chart lists part numbers LH1503W1504–4402 with cutting diameters from 15.9 to 44.45 mm in 1/4″ and 1/2″ shanks. The series is produced in the Sichuan and Dongguan, China manufacturing bases.
How It Works
+Mounted in the CNC router, the bit traces the grip channel along the furniture front; the profile mills the recess and the finger-pull radius simultaneously. The PCD edge keeps the grip geometry identical across a full furniture batch on abrasive boards.
Applications
- Integrated finger-grip handles in furniture fronts (drawers and doors)
- Handleless cabinet and furniture production on CNC routers
Suitable Materials
- Hardwood, softwood, plywood and composite workpieces, subject to grade and application review
- Suitability depends on the specific material grade, profile and machining conditions; confirm the application before ordering
Material Comparison: Traditional Carbide Router Bit vs. Diamond (PCD) Router Bit
+Typical industry data for reference. Actual results depend on the workpiece grade, machine condition and feed rate.
| Property | Traditional Carbide Router Bit | Diamond (PCD) Router Bit |
|---|---|---|
| Cutting edge hardness | 1,500–2,000 HV (carbide) | 7,000–9,000 HV (PCD diamond) |
| Edge life on abrasive panels | Baseline (1×) | 15–20× longer edge life |
| Heat resistance of the edge | Loses hardness above ≈ 315 °C | Retains hardness up to ≈ 1,000 °C |
| Feed rate at equal quality | Lower | Higher |
| Sharpness retention on MDF / particleboard | Dulls quickly | Holds the edge through long runs |
| Regrinding cycles over tool life | 2–4 times | 5–8 times |
| Cut edge quality as the edge wears | More fuzzing and tearout | Consistent clean walls |
| Chipping risk on brittle boards | Higher at high feed | Lower, stable edge at high feed |
| Typical machines | Light-duty routers | CNC routers, engraving and routing machines |
| Cost per metre of cut | Higher over long runs | Lower over long runs |
Delivery Scope
Each tool is packed in an individual plastic box.
+Each order also includes an inspection record. Send the furniture-front thickness, grip depth and desired handle profile, plus the machine model, cutting direction and quantity so the configuration is confirmed before production.
Why Choose VPOINT
+VPOINT supports this PCD router bit series with:
- One-year warranty on every tool
- Custom profiles, diameters and shanks produced to order
- Regrinding service to extend tool life
- Factory direct since 2008, ISO 9001 certified
- Dual manufacturing bases in Sichuan and Dongguan, China
Precision & Quality Control
+Every finger grip bit is inspected before shipment: cutting diameter, radius, shank diameter and tool runout are checked against the specification table at micron level. Production follows an ISO 9001 process with batch traceability, so reorders match the original configuration.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which diameters are available?
+Part numbers LH1503W1504–4402 cover cutting diameters from 15.9 to 44.45 mm with radii from 3.17 to 6.5 mm, in 1/4″ and 1/2″ shanks, as shown in the chart.
What panel thickness suits a finger grip?
+Send the furniture-front thickness, grip depth and desired handle profile; the cutter diameter and clearance are confirmed against the machining arrangement.
Does it replace attached handles?
+Yes — the bit machines the integrated finger-pull recess directly into the drawer or door front, eliminating attached handles.
What should I send for a quotation?
+Furniture-front thickness, grip depth, handle profile, workpiece material, machine model, cutting direction and quantity.
+Key words: PCD finger grip bit, diamond handle router bit, integrated pull bit, handleless cabinet bit
