Solid Woodalloy Sawblades
Solid wood carbide (alloy) sawblades, D 255-350 mm, 48-120T, bores 25.4/50.8 mm. Rip and crosscut designs for table and dimension saws.
The VPOINT Solid Woodalloy Sawblades are a carbide-tipped circular saw blade. Ideal for ripping and crosscutting solid wood, table saw and dimension saw work and cutting softwood and hardwood boards.
The VP00314 solid-wood alloy sawblade series uses tungsten carbide tooth tips on a laser-cut, tensioned steel plate, with diameters from 255 to 350 mm on 25.4 mm and related bores. Tooth count and kerf follow the specifications table for the ripping or crosscut saw.
Design and Construction
The VP00314 solid-wood alloy sawblade series uses tungsten carbide tooth tips on a laser-cut, tensioned steel plate. Diameters (ØD) run from 255 to 350 mm, with 25.4 and 50.8 mm bores and tooth counts from 48T rip designs to 120T fine-finish designs; kerf/plate pairs are matched to each diameter.

How It Works
Carbide-tipped teeth are the economic choice for solid wood: they take deep rip cuts in softwood and hardwood and can be reground several times. Alternate-top bevel (ATB) groupings shear wood fibres clean; flat-top rips clear large chip volumes in deep cuts.
Applications
- Ripping and crosscutting solid wood
- Table saw and dimension saw work
- Cutting softwood and hardwood boards
- Joinery and furniture component sizing
Suitable Materials
- Softwood and hardwood boards
- Solid wood panels (edge-glued)
- Plywood
- Veneered panels

Carbide tips handle knots and dense grain in solid wood, and the blades can be reground several times between replacements.
Material Comparison: Tungsten Carbide vs. PCD
This blade uses tungsten carbide tips — the right choice for solid-wood work at typical volumes. The figures below show where each material wins, so you can match the tip material to the job.
| Property | Tungsten Carbide (This Blade) | PCD Diamond |
|---|---|---|
| Hardness | 1,500–2,000 HV | 7,000–9,000 HV |
| Tool life on MDF / particleboard / melamine | 30–60 h (baseline) | 15–20× longer (500–1,200 h) |
| Tool life on solid hardwood | 80–150 h (baseline) | 10–13× longer (800–2,000 h) |
| Tool life on abrasive boards (fibre cement / composites) | baseline | 10–15× longer |
| Edge renewal | 4–6 regrinds at shorter intervals | Limited regrinds — the economics come from 15–20× longer intervals between changes |
| Cut finish | Ra ~0.8 μm typical, degrades as teeth wear | Ra ≤ 0.2 μm achievable, stable over the blade life |
| Thermal conductivity | ~80 W/m·K | 540–560 W/m·K — heat leaves the tooth tip fast |
| Friction coefficient | ≈ 0.3 | ≈ 0.05 — lower cutting forces and heat |
| Suited for | General-purpose solid-wood work; the economic choice at lower volumes | Abrasive engineered wood, laminates, composites, fibre cement, non-ferrous metals |
Figures are typical published values; actual blade life depends on the workpiece material, feed rate, depth of cut, machine condition and maintenance schedule.
Delivery Scope
Single blade. Order by part number with the diameter, kerf, bore and tooth count stated in the specifications table below.
Why Choose VPOINT
- One-year warranty on every blade — defects in material or workmanship are covered for 12 months from delivery.
- Custom tooling — diameters, kerfs, bores and tooth counts built to your drawing or sample.
- Non-standard fabrication — sizes outside the standard catalogue, including bore re-sizing and tooth-count changes.
- Resharpening service — blades return to service after regrinding at a fraction of new-blade cost.
- Factory-direct since 2008 — ISO 9001 manufacturing in Sichuan and Dongguan, China; 40Cr chrome-molybdenum steel bodies; no trading intermediaries.
Send a drawing, a sample or a worn blade, and our engineering team will quote the exact specification you need.
Precision & Quality Control
Every blade is inspected before shipment. Outside diameter, kerf thickness, plate thickness, bore diameter and tooth count are measured against the values listed in the specifications table, and tooth geometry (hook angle, bevel angle) is verified against the design drawing. Blades are stress-checked for runout and tension before packing.
Blades measuring outside tolerance do not ship. Inspection is performed under our ISO 9001 quality system, with batch records retained for traceability.
