Tungsten Carbide Particles

Tungsten Carbide Particles

Crushed Tungsten Carbide Particles for Hardfacing and Wear Protection VPOINT tungsten carbide particles — also called crushed tungsten carbide grit, carbide granules or carbide broken grain — are produced by mechanically crushing and precision-sieving sintered YG-grade tungsten carbide. Every particle keeps the hardness of the parent material (HRA 89–91) and is sorted into standard grades such as 10–30 mesh and 3–5 mm crushed pieces, with custom particle sizes and grades available on request. How the particles protect parts When brazed or welded onto a steel body, the carbide particles build a hardfacing layer that resists abrasive wear under low to moderate impact. Abrasive material packs between the particles instead of cutting the base metal, so the layer wears by material-on-material flow. Sharp, blocky particles are also available for cutting-dominant applications. Typical applications Oil drilling and geological tools: milling shoes, grinding shoes, stabilizers, reamers, drill-pipe wear bands Mining and coal equipment: bucket teeth, auger flights, crusher hammers, plow points Construction and agriculture: trencher teeth, wood-grinding hammers, scraper blades Matrix feed for carbide composite welding rods and spray-welding materials Grades and customization Offered in 100% YG8 and other YG/YD series grades of high-purity cemented carbide. Particle size, grade and packaging are fully customizable; batch hardness and sieve analysis are verified before shipment. Specification sheets are available on request.
