Carbide Composite Rods

Carbide Composite Rods (YD-Type) for Hardfacing VPOINT carbide composite rods — also called YD-type hardfacing rods or tungsten carbide composite welding rods — carry sintered crushed tungsten carbide particles (HRA 89–91) in a ductile copper-zinc-nickel (CuZnNi) matrix. Standard loading is 70% tungsten carbide by weight, and rods are supplied flux-coated (color-coded by particle grade) or bare, in 450 mm and other lengths. Key technical values Carbide loading: 70% tungsten carbide (YG grade, crushed and sintered) Brazing temperature window: 890–950 °C (oxy-acetylene or arc deposit) Matrix system: CuZnNi / copper-matrix alloy, engineered for ductility and carbide retention What they are used for Oil and gas drilling: hardfacing milling shoes, grinding shoes, stabilizers, reamers and drill-pipe joints Mining, piling and coal equipment: auger flights, core-drill bits, pile-driving bits, coal-cutter blades Restoration: worn hardfaced surfaces can be re-overlaid to restore original dimensions All rods are batch-verified for carbide loading and particle grade; specification sheets are available on request.
